THE energetic Ronna Grace Funtelar is back on the beat in Whakatane after a one-year hiatus and overseas trip.

The popular hip hop dance teacher is working with Ionik Dance, running classes out of the Awakeri War Memorial Hall.

The senior classes of intermediate and high school students come together for their dose of hip hop on Mondays between 5pm to 6pm.

Classes for the juniors, aged seven to 10 years old, are held on Mondays between 4pm to 4.45pm.

“We prefer that students contact us to see if there’s space left in the classes,” Ronna says.The dance studio can be contacted via the ionikstudiodance@gmail.com email address.

On Monday, there were 16 students practising their moves in the senior class.
