THE Eastern Bay Vintage Car Club was out in force last weekend for its annual East Coast Rally.
Club captain Barry Keene says this year was the eighth such rally the club had held. Other clubs from all of the North Island were invited to attend and arrived from Auckland, Taumarunui, Tokoroa Waihi and the Waikato region.
The rally began at the Lyceum Club grounds on Domain Road with cars gathering from about 9am. The cars left the site at one minute intervals, beginning from 9.30am, heading out of town over the Landing Road bridge and through the countryside on both sealed and gravel roads.
After a stop for lunch, they arrived back at the Lyceum Club for afternoon tea.
Eastern Bay Life photographer John Morin went along with his camera.
