BIG PRIZES: Lyn Irving, Sammy Wilson and Alix Stiles with the raffle prizes for Quota’s Blue September raffle.

QUOTA International of Whakatane is proudly supporting Blue September the annual fundraiser and awareness campaign for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

The club has managed to gather together a magnificent collection of “guys’ goodies”, from Eastern Bay businesses to raffle off.

First prize is a big, blue wheelbarrow filled with everything from power tools to aftershave, fish filleting knives to merino wool socks.

Second prize is some Bosch power tools and third prize is a Mangrove Jack’s brewing kit.

There are numerous other prizes, including car care kits and vouchers.
Quota members will be around Whakatane and Kawerau over the next month to sell tickets. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5.

More than 600 Kiwi men will die this year from prostate cancer – mates, fathers, sons, brothers, grandfathers – if you haven’t been directly affected by prostate cancer, you’re bound to know someone who has.

Every cent raised during Blue September helps the Prostate Cancer Foundation to provide support, campaign for greater awareness, advocate for better diagnosis and treatment outcomes, and fund vital research.
