THIS makes a quick and economical meal using sausage meat. Serve with either plain boiled rice or your favorite pasta and sauce.Or, of course, it can be served with vegetables and gravy.

Crumbed sausage balls

Serves 4

500 grams sausage meat
2 small onions sliced finely.
2 tablespoon chopped parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup dried breadcrumbs
Oil for frying

Mix sausage meat, onion and parsley with the salt and pepper together. With wet hands roll the mixture into balls.

Roll the balls into the breadcrumbs. Flatten slightly and shallow fry until golden and brown.
Variations

  • Make the balls smaller and, when cooked, serve them with a bowl of sauce as a snack
  • They also go well in a dish of instant noodles with some sauce.
  • If you like a bit of chili, add a little, or some of your favorite herbs.
  • If you have some left over vegetables, add to your mixture.
