ARTWORK by Opotiki youth will feature at the upcoming Royal Easter Show in Auckland.
Four pieces, painted on old, abandoned boards, will be sent up to Auckland on April 7.
This has been facilitated through the Opotiki Children’s Art House, and is the second time Opotiki has been in the show’s spotlight.
According to Shona Hammond-Boys, the art house’s mural restoration project featured at the show 10 years ago.
“Opotiki can be very proud of these works on recycled boards,” she said.
The boards will be for sale at the event for $500 each, with proceeds going towards Opotiki’s mural restoration project.
“It is hoped that the artists will attend the opening ceremony in Auckland,” said Ms Hammond-Boys.
