WHAKATANE primary school students enjoyed a day of activities in perfect weather last Friday.

Balls of all sorts, frisbees and coloured parachutes were flying at Rex Morpeth Park as year 1 and 2 children from various schools enjoyed the outdoors.

Sport Bay of Plenty community sport adviser Karen Stanton says 405 children took part.

“It’s about learning skills in a fun way,” she says.

“We have these days every year in Whakatane, Opotiki, Kawerau and Edgecumbe.
