THE Waikato Bay of Plenty Beko Netball team has its second game of the season this Sunday against the Northern Marvels in Auckland, which netball fans can watch live on Sky Sport.
Opotiki player Summer Parekura will be vying for her second start of the season after playing three quarters of the team’s first match against the Hellers Mainland side two weeks ago.
Playing in both the goal attack and goal shooter’s position, Summer showed her strength as an agile feeder sending in good balls to team-mate Khiarna Williams, from Whakatane.
Khiarna played half the match and topped the goal shooting with 90 percent. A New Zealand Secondary Schools’ representative player, Khiarna is also a Magic training partner.
Kawerau-linked Beko player Braxton Te Riini is another to watch, having been named in the starting line-up and was played at both goal attack and wing attack in the first match.
Sunday’s game will be the third match for the Northern Marvels who last week beat the other Auckland-based Beko team, the Northern Comets, by four goals and a round one loss to the Southern Blast.
The Waikato Bay of Plenty Beko side will be looking to rekindle the form of their first-round win after a bye last weekend.
The match will be played at Auckland’s Eventfinda Stadium, with a start time of 2.10pm, and will be televised live on Sky Sport as the curtain-raiser to the Magic versus Mystics game at 4pm.
